Suture-based vs. pure plug-based vascular closure devices for VA-ECMO decannulation

چکیده
Abstract Background VA-ECMO is a valuable treatment option for patients in cardiogenic shock, but complications during decannulation may worsen the overall outcome. To date, no larger study has ever compared suture-based to pure plug-based vessel closure devices decannulation. Purpose The aim of was compare efficacy and safety vascular veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) with shock. Methods In this retrospective study, outcome 33 implanted between 02/2019 05/2020 were 38 closured device 06/2020 11/2021. Results Closure success rate 88% group versus 97% (Figure 1, p=0.27). Median number used two 1 (p<0.01). Severe bleeding more frequent (21%) (3%) 2, p=0.04). Ischemic occurred 6% 5% (p=1.00). Pseudoaneurysm formation detected 3% both groups Application femoral compression system required 27% patient 11% (p=0.13). No switch open surgery due failure groups. Conclusions Based on our analysis, we propose that should be preferred This hypothesis further tested randomized trial. Postcardiotomy VA-ECMO for refractory cardiogenic shock
Postcardiotomy cardiogenic shock (PCCS) is a rare but catastrophic syndrome that can occur following separation from cardiopulmonary bypass or at any time during the immediate postoperative course. The management of PCCS varies between clinicians, institutions and countries. The available evidence to guide this practice is limited. In their systematic review and meta-analysis, Khorsandi and col...
متن کاملPercutaneous vascular plug for incomplete surgical left atrial appendage closure.
Surgical left atrial appendage (LAA) exclusion has a failure rate as high as 60% due to persistent residual flow in the LAA or large LAA remnants. We describe a novel technique for treatment of incomplete surgical LAA ligation, and define the mechanism that led to persistence of the remnant LAA without any thrombus formation.
متن کاملTranscatheter aortic paravalvular leak closure using 3 Amplatzer Vascular Plug III devices in a child
Paravalvular leak (PVL) is usually related to disruption of prosthetic valve sewing ring sutures. Many previous reports have described transcatheter paravalvular leak closure in adult patients [1–4], but those describing such a procedure in children are scarce. A 16-year-old boy underwent an aortic valve replacement (AVR) with a stented bioprosthesis Hancock 23 mm due to combined aortic stenosi...

PURPOSE The objective of this prospective study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a percutaneous closure system based on a polyglycolic acid plug for achieving hemostasis. MATERIAL AND METHODS In this study from 2011 to 2014, a percutaneous vascular closure system (ExoSeal) was used in 1000 patients (mean age 70.6 ± 10.2 years), using antegrade and retrograde techniques within t...
